Karla V. Rodriguez

Karla V. Rodriguez, (Attorney)
KRodriguez@kodlawpc.com

Karla V. Rodriguez joined Knell, O’Connor & Danielewicz as an associate in 2016 with experience handling workers’ compensation cases. Prior to joining Knell, O’Connor & Danielewicz, Karla gained experience defending companies and working with insurers through her work at a Chicago civil litigation defense firm, where she was immersed in all phases of litigation from the initial evaluation and strategy analysis through resolution. Notably, she drafted several winning motions, granting summary judgment and the dismissal of claims against corporate defendants in cases dealing with contractual indemnity, commercial leasing, and construction defect issues.

Karla earned a J.D. and a Certificate in Labor & Employment Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was the recipient of a Merit Scholarship. While earning her law degree, she also interned for a management-side labor and employment firm, which represented public and private sector corporations in labor disputes and collective bargaining agreement negotiations. During this tenure, she also researched and co-authored articles advising employers on best strategies to handle current legal issues, published in the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association. Her writing on employment law issues has also been published in the Illinois Public Employee Relations Report, where she also served as an editor.
