D. Scott Murphy

Scott Murphy joined the firm of Knell O’Connor Danielewicz in 2016. He has an extensive background in Workers’ Compensation defense. Prior to joining the firm, Scott worked at a law firm in Springfield, IL. For the prior 22 years, Scott’s practice has been exclusively in the area of Workers’ Compensation. Prior to the practice of law, Scott worked as a work comp adjuster.

Over the past two decades, Scott has taken hundreds of cases to arbitration. He has appealed and argued multiple cases before the Illinois Work Comp Commission and the Illinois Appellate Court – Workers’ Comp Division. Scott has worked with self-insured businesses and insurance companies, both small and large. With a unique background as an adjuster and attorney, he has taught many courses to new adjusters on all aspects of Illinois work comp.
