Blake joined the firm in 2020, having spent the last twelve years litigating complex workers’ compensation matters at the arbitration, Commission and Circuit Court levels. He has represented employers in the construction, transportation, manufacturing, restaurant, service, entertainment and property management industries. Blake has an additional twenty years of experience defending civil liability and third-party employer cases. Blake graduated from Drake University Law School with honors and also served as Notes Editor on the Drake Law Review. He was admitted to the Illinois state bar and Federal bar for the Northern District of Illinois in 1986.
Blake has tried numerous cases at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission as well as at the state and federal court levels, with a proven track record of success. Additionally, Blake served from 2016-2019 as an insurance counsel representative for the Illinois Advisory Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute (WCRI), which compiles and analyzes workers’ compensation claim data on a state by state basis.
